Luc Messinezis

After receiving a a post-graduate degree in Sound Arts from the London University of the Arts Luc Messinezis has practiced and researched Sound Art at a professional level. In 2023 he earned his doctorate from the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University. His Ph.D. research focused on the role and influence of Aural Simulacra on Sound Art. His works draw on such fields as acoustic empathy, perception, anthropology and the notion of the real. Milestones in his activity as both a researcher and an artist include participations in exhibitions and events such as: Ethnographic Terminalia 2011 (CA), ART Athina 2013 (GR) and Athens Digital Art Festival 2015 (GR). Luc has also presented his research in such conferences as The Global Composition soundscape conference (Dieburg, DE, 2012) and the 7th International FKL Symposium on the Soundscape (CastellodiBeseno, IT, 2015)His work The Modernbook of Cynics was nominated for the international ScreenGrab7 2015 MediaAward (AU)
