Dr. Andreas Floros holds an engineering degree from the department of electrical and computer engineering, University of Patras, as well as a Ph.D. from the same department,  focusing on digital audio signal processing and conversion techniques for all-digital power amplification methods. His scientific field is Algorithms - Digital Audio Applications and Electroacoustic Systems. His current research interests include: Audio games and auditory interfaces, Augmented / Mixed reality audio, Smart sound and music composition, Analysis, processing and converting digital audio signals, Information extraction from audio signals, Intelligent digital sound effects (iDAFx), Audio information representation, Digital electroacoustic systems and applications, Encoding and distribution techniques of acoustic information, Emotional acoustic ecology, Three-dimensional sound reproduction and immersion. He is a former President of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, and has previously taught at that University’s Informatics and the Music Departments. Dr. Floros is a member of Association for Computing Machinery and the Audio Engineering Society (where he serves as Secretary of the AES Greek Section, while also actively participating in the AES’ Technical Committee on Network Audio Systems and Audio for Games. He is also a member of the Hellenic Insitute for Acoustics and the Technical Chamber of Greece.

Roles and Responsiblities in HAL:

• Scientific Collaborator to the Sound Arts and Technologies C:Hub.
• Coordinator of research related to the study and design of immersive and accessible sound interfaces and sound installations.
• Co-writer of papers and presentations, in collaboration with other members of the research team.
