Ioannis Zannos
Professor, Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University

Professor Zannos holds a Ph.D. both from the University of Hamburg (Musicology) and from the University of Tokyo (Dr. Engineer, Informatics Engineering). His field is Music Informatics. His research interests include Interactive Arts, Programming systems for musical composition in actual time, Sound art and interactive installations, Web systems of audiovisual arts. He has served as Director at the Music Technology and Documentation Department of the Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung, Berlin, Germany) as well as the Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE), of the University of California at Santa Barbara, USA.

Roles and Responsibilities in HAL:

  • Head of the Interactive and Telematic Interfaces C: Hub
  • Coordinator of research on Sound Art, interactive installations and Online Audiovisual Arts Systems
  • Writer of papers and conference presentations, in collaboration with other members of the research team
